EDDY CURRENT SORTER

METALOSCOPE ED 700

EDDY CURRENT SORTER, MODEL - METALOSCOPE ED 700 for sorting of mixed-up ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Mix-up of metals in the form of raw, semifinished or finished products is very common in all industries where they are processed or used in wide range of specifications and conditions. This may occur in transit, storage or at different stages of manufacturing processes. While chemical, spectro analysis and or metallurgical tests may be carried out for their segregation at the cost of time, money and impairness to the test objects, sorting by non-destructive means is obviously preferred for quick on the spot test results without even a scratch on job and that too,at negligible cost. Besides, sorting by non-destructive means is essential when bulk materials or finished products having external similarity are mixed up. NDTA has developed Eddy Current Sorter, Model-METALOSCOPE ED 700 for segregation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals by non-destructive means according to their metallurgical conditions. It can segregate metals of all forms and conditions when proper coils are selected.

NDTA “METALOSCOPE ED 700” is sturdy, light weight and portable test unit with CRT display of 70 mm. The instrument can be carried easily from place to place for in-situ inspection by a handle which can be tilted in convenient position for easy vision of CRT trace. While the receptacles for the balancing coils are provided in the rear panel, all the control switches are fitted on the front panel for easy operation.

Powered from 220 volts single phase 50 Hz a.c. source, the unit offers both sine wave display for accurate analysis of test results. Besides the oscilloscope controls, a 10 position rotary band switch to select test frequency from 10 Hz to 10 kHz, two threshold level controls to set upper and lower limits of acceptance and a phase control to adjust the sine wave phase from 100 to 1700 are provided on the front.
